If you're looking for more help with Sekiro be sure to check out our guide on unlocking Shinobi Prosthetic Tools. For a complete guide on how to do just that, and obtain the one item you'll need in order to see the Return ending, head over to our Sekiro Divine Child walkthrough. This ending takes a considerably longer time to achieve than the two previous endings that we've detailed, because you have to complete the Divine Child of the Rejuvenating Water's quest line. Sekiro Return Endingįinally, there's the Return ending, which many consider to be the "true" ending of Sekiro. It's a little confusing, but doing the steps that we've listed above gives you one critical item that changes how the game ends after the climactic boss fight. When we say proceed with the rest of Sekiro as it unfolds, we mean defeating the Divine Dragon, and then the same final boss that you would encounter in the Immortal Severance ending of Sekiro. Simply proceed with the rest of Sekiro as it unfolds.Use the new bell, which will take you to an alternate version of Hirata Estate. You will receive a brand new bell item after speaking to Emma.Rest at the nearby Sculptor's Idol, and talk to Emma.Retreat back to the Dilapidated Temple, and eavesdrop on both Emma and the Sculptor.Use the Sculptor's Idol to warp to the Old Graves Idol, and talk to Emma, who is waiting for you nearby.Use the nearby Sculptor's Idol to rest, and then speak to Emma again.Go back to a Sculptor's Idol and rest, and then eavesdrop on Kuro in his room in Ashina Castle.Go along the roof to Isshin Ashina's room, and eavesdrop on him and Emma.Immediately after the ensuing boss fight from abandoning Owl has played out, you need to complete the following steps, in this exact order: This Purification ending for Sekiro is an alternate ending after you reject Owl and side with Kuro at Ashina Castle. Simply put, you only need to reject Owl at Ashina Castle, and then proceed with completing the rest of Sekiro in order to get the Immortal Severance ending. After siding with Kuro and rejecting Owl, you'll need to proceed through several additional areas of the game, making it all the way to the Divine Dragon boss, and then having another, final showdown with a different boss to bring a close to the game. Doing this will effectively extend the story of Sekiro. Immortal Severance EndingĪlternatively, when you meet Owl atop Ashina Castle, you can reject Owl's request and side with the Divine Heir Kuro. This is the fastest way to roll credits on Sekiro, but is considered to be the "bad" ending. Note that Sekiro will end with two boss encounters right after this, and then it's curtains on the game. If you agree with Owl and abandon Kuro, you'll get the Shura ending. Speak to Owl, and he'll request that you remember the Iron Code of the Shinobi, and effectively forsake your mission with Kuro. Reach the very top of the tower, where you had that previous battle with Genichiro Ashina, and the Great Shinobi Owl will be waiting there for you. When you eventually return to Ashina Castle Tower, you'll find it in a state of fiery destruction, as red warriors have completely invaded the entire area.
